Market Tote Bag - Beginner Sewing Pattern & Video Tutorial
The Market Tote is a simple and stylish tote bag perfect for work, knitting projects, errands or travel. Although simple in design, every detail of this bag has been carefully considered and refined.
It should sew up fairly quickly. We make these bags in about 3 hours start to finish in our workshops in Melrose, MA.
In addition to the step by step instructions, you will also have access to a full video tutorial which will walk you through each step of the project in detail.
Its shape fits comfortably under the arm. The handles should fit comfortably over the shoulder but do not let the bag hit the ground when held in hand. The inside divided pocket can be customized to fit a phone or whatever you like. This pattern has been simplified to be easy to sew even for beginners. It is a great way to show off a favorite fabric. Through making countless bags and teaching hundreds of people to make this bag in person over the last few years, I have learned the most common questions and challenges and tried to answer them in the instructions.
The bag is a blank canvas. Show off a bold print or make a classic bag to go with everything. No matter the style, the genuine leather handles take this handmade bag to the next level. I hope you love it as much as I do.
