If you have not taken a class with us before, please sign up for the beginner sewing workshop or contact us before signing up. Classes are for ages 7+.
All supplies are included in the class fee. PLEASE SIGN UP FOR AT LEAST 2 CLASSES SO WE HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO PLAN AND COMPLETE THE SELECTED PROJECT.
We like to encourage new students to work on a few specific projects in their first few weeks to build on their core skills and build confidence. After that all students are encouraged to select from any of our class projects. We try to accommodate special requests and projects within reason. We have lots of options to chose from and are always coming up with new ideas!
We keep class enrollment small so that each student is given individual attention and full use of all classroom amenities. This helps students to get to know each other and maximize their creativity.
Classes run for 2 hours. The last 5 minutes of classes are used to tidy up the workstations and classroom.
Classroom Policies And Information Summer 2020
Everything will be wiped down prior to your arrival. MASKS ARE REQUIRED THE WHOLE TIME YOU ARE IN THE STUDIO. I will also be enforcing social distancing.
To limit the number if people in the classroom, please leave your student at the door. We will walk them out after class.
If your child does not have previous sewing experience, please sign them up for the Beginner Sewing Workshop before their first class.
Payment is required before the class and to secure your spot. All payments can be made online or in the shop by credit card, gift card, cash or check.
Cancellations and transfers may NOT be done through the website. You will need to contact the shop directly.
There are no refunds for missed days due to changed work or vacation schedules, sick days or other non-emergency reasons.
Please notify the studio as soon as possible if your child will miss a class. Please keep sick students at home, in order to maintain the health of the other students. Refunds and transfers must be requested at least 7 days prior to the session from which you are withdrawing. Refunds are not allowed for those who register within 7 days prior to a session’s start. We do need to enforce this policy. We maintain a low teacher to student ratio so we staff accordingly and prepare many supplies in advance. We also have a wait list for many classes and need time to fill spots.
Safety and classroom Information
During summer camp, your child may bring a snack. If your child brings food, please make sure that it is nut/peanut free. Spill-proof water bottles are allowed.
Please have your child keep their hair pulled back. We have elastics in the shop if they need one.
Students must wear shoes in the sewing studio for safety purposes. Make sure the foot is completely covered. No flip flops or boots are permitted.
The last 5-10 minutes of classes are used to tidy up the workstations and classroom. Please do not drop off any earlier than 5 minutes prior to class. Prompt drop-off and pick-up is necessary to ensure classes run smoothly and free of interruptions. If you are running late to pick up your child, please call the shop.
If you have trouble parking, feel free to pull into the driveway next to the door and drop your child off. If you need to pick them up there, just tell your child before class, pop in the front door and let us know, call the shop 781-620-1896.
